Hello, I'm Taylor (17 years old) an on placement worker at an organistation here in Scotland. I'm making this thread because I've been trying to get the interent connection on one of the systems back up for about four days now.

-DHCP Client not working
-Can't start it on services.msc
-No default gateway on Ipconfig (Cmd)
-I've allowed TCPIP and DHCP on regedit.exe but still doesn't work.
-I've managed to get the connection to the Identfying stage from having no connection at all.
-The problem now is that it's actually stuck on this stage.

I've been looking for four days at different solutions, printed them off and tried them all. I can't say none of them have helped because I have the connection at a better state.
I just can't figure out how to get DHCP up even when it seems to me that I have tried all of the logical steps.

This is fairly urgent.

This is really strange. All other dependancies are running yet DHCP doesn't work!

Is DHCP not working for the entire DCHP scope or for just one client?

Is the DHCP server authorized?
Is the scope active?

1)Have you tried any hardware troubleshooting, replacing the cable, using a different port, replace the NIC?

2)Reinstall the driver, get the latest version off the manufacturer web site?

3)Turn off all security software

4)Try in safe mode with networking

5)Check for viruses, spywares, malwares
