I am using ICS from my computer to a router, using a crossover cable from the pc to router. Then from the router im using 2 straight through cables going to 2 ps2's. I keep trying but one of the ps2's keeps getting disconnected from the network and im not sure what to do. It looks like this:
Code:
PC--crossover cable--router--straight--ps2 #1
                           \\straight--ps2 #2

if everything else other than that one ps2 isnt working..try replacing the cable or a different port on the router.

i tried both of those things... i tried using a straight to the router instead of the crossover, but not much luck either

I got it working today, i put the crossover away and tried this:
Code:
PC--straight cable--router--straight cable--ps2 #1
                       \straight cable-- ps2 #2

Basically i just switched from using a crossover cable from the pc to the router and instead used a straight cable.

You're suppose to use straight-through when connected to the switch port on the router. Not sure why you added ICS, I don't see any ICS setting on your drawing.

You can use a cross-over cable only if your router's switch port support auto-mdi/mdix which corrects the ports for you so you don't have to worry about using the wrong cable.
