crossover cable

so i made a crossover cable using a standard network cable....after i make it how do i setup the software or w/e in the 2 computers to use it?

o sorry both running windows 2000 or windows XP

Connect the computers with the cable and run the network connection wizard. (somewhere in your startmenu)

Dont run the wizzard (i hate it hehe) just assign the machines ips manually then make sure you can ping and your good to go
theres no special setup with a cross over setup to cross over cables. Hope this helps.
