Connecting to a workgroup with a laptop set up to work on a domain

Hi,

I have been given a xp pro laptop by my workplace which has been set up to log on to their domain via the usual username/password combination. At home i have a workgroup with two computers with shared folders which i regularly use for streaming music/films and for backup purposes. I want to be able to access these files when i am at home without having to fiddle too much with the settings on the laptop (IT support get a bit twitchy when you start playing around). Can this be done?

open control panel
open system properties
click computer name tab
click the change button
under member of, select workgroup
set workgroup name
click ok

it may throw an error because it should try to delete the computer account from the domain.

click yes to reboot
