Hey guys,

I'm wanting to share my files and internet with my Windows 2000 Pro PC. However I don't know how to do so.

The computer I'm wanting to share the files from is a Windows XP Pro Machine.

Thanks

Ben

Thanks, I'll read that however I just got this error on the admin (Win XP) and the computer I'm wanting to connect from (Win 2k)

There is an IP Address confilct with another system on the network.

I think this is happening because I orginally ghosted the Win 2k onto a newer hard drive and then installed XP onto it...

Do I need to chaneg the IP? If so, how?

Cheers

from command prompt: do a ipconfig /renew
then do a ipconfig /all
that will let you know everything you need to about your IP, then you can tell if you need to make changes on the DHCP server or just some local changes on that machine

THANKS!!!!

The ipconfig /renew worked well. And becuase it was a copy of another harddrive which already had the network setup, I didn't have to do anything for it to connect.

Thanks
again.
