Connecting LAN... Help?

Hello all.

I just recently put together my new rig. Nothing too fantastic, but it runs smooth and loves to play video games at high specs. =D

The question I'm throwing out there now is I have my older PC that I want conencted to the internet THROUGH my new PC.

Heres what I have tried-

The only problem now that im having is that when I connect it that ways, I'm not recieving any connection on the older PC...

the new motherboard is an eVGA 780i and in the old pc, I have a DFI Lanparty ( I forget what series ).

Any information on how to execute this properly will be highly appreciated, and thanks for taking the time out to help.

did you turn on ics (internet connection sharing) on your new machine?

No, I have to say I have no tried that.
