does anyone know if it is possible to have a network link between just two computers that have different opperating systems. we have a network cable, but the problem is if windows ME and windows XP will mesh.

It is possable but you will need a crossover cable, not a regular network cable, use the XP network setup wizard on both computers.

A cross cable is a normal cable with different crimping. Join the two comps and give them the IP addresses and workgroups.

It can be a hell of a job to get them to see eachother if you don't know the right settings. You can link almost all Win versions together.
