if your using norton its a real ***** wiht networks, make sure if your using any firewall its configured to suit your network, and enable file sharing

If you have version 2005 or 2006, disable the worm protection. That's usually the cause of many network issue with Norton Anti-virus. Usually if it detects anything while you're trying to file share it should ask for your permission to permit or deny the associating application or ports.
