So you can plug it in and it still doesn't work?

This may seem silly but have you tried different ports?
Any other devices connected to it currently?? If yes do they get internet?
Can the device at least connect to your network?

Is your router set up to only lease a certain number of IPs? I ran into that problem before, I had set up my router to allow only 2 IPs available at a time for my computer and my wifes computer, I forgot about it until my daughter got a computer and was unable to obtain an IP.

Is Malwarebytes antivirus software? I thought it only did spyware and such, just like Ad-Aware and SpyBot S&D do. You may still have a virus causing all this trouble. Although it's typically only rated around #5 in comparison charts, I recommend ESET's NOD32 antivirus. There is a free trial so you could download and install it and clean your computer without cost. It's only if it works and you decide to keep it that you have to pay.
