ccnp is like ccna but change associate to professional. ccnp is middle level
ccie is cisco certified internet expert, the highest level

besides ccnp and ccie and ccna, cisco also provide many many other certificates also. get 'em all!!! heheeheee

sweet thanks for explaining. By the way, how difficult is getting certified? And do you know about the requirements to becoming one? Just courious as I am scheduling for the Cisco class in the next couple of days...

getting certified with ccna is extremely easy. ccnp is harder. ccie is supposed to be all over people's head so there won't be any water-injected-headed network advisors. you need to have ccna in order to take ccnp exam, but you don't need nothing prior to ccie. don't think about too much just get online and read, not only matterial in the curriculum but also from other websites, especially cisco documentations, http://www.cisco.com/univercd/home/home.htm

if you have access to routers, and have access to them other than class time, try to work on those commands and configurations in the documentations.
