Hi guys,

I'm trying to get Chessmaster to work online. The manual says I have to forward some ports in order for it to work.

The picture below shows what I've tried, but it still doesn't work.

And these are the ports it says I have to forward:

For the Online game mode to function properly, the ports that need to be opened are:
TCP: 6668, 40000 - 42999 and UDP: 41006, 44000, 45000, 45001
for the ubi.com matchmaking services and UDP: 17110 for the game communication.

Help is always appreciated!

Thanks.

On the screen you posted, you need to change the IP address to that of the computer you're using. As it is in your pic, it's set at the IP of the router.

To open port 17110, just do as you've done (including the IP address part) but put 17110 in both the "Start" and "End" boxes, and set "Protocol" to "Both".

The IP is supposed to be that of the router. Unless the router is behind a modem that is also acting as a router, the IP will be 192.168.1.1. It the router IS behind a modem that is acting as a router, you will have to set the modem up as a pass-through or ethernet bridge or you will not be able to forward the ports. I have the same router, by the way.

You will have to put each port or range of ports on a different line.

Start End Protocol
6668 6668 TCP
40000 42999 TCP
41006 41006 UDP
44000 44000 UDP
45000 45001 UDP
17110 17110 UDP

Hope that helps.

What ISP are you with over there in Clarence? I know that area pretty well. Been by there several times.

This is what I have now and I still cannot connect.

Also, make sure you are giving your program permission with your firewall if you are running one.

Nope, your modem is not acting as a router, or your router's IP would not be 192.168.1.1. My modem did act as a router (with only one port...?), and I had to bridge it.
