Hi, I was wondering how to change the IP that my router assigns to my computer, xbox, etc.

I have a Linksys WRT54G and i can't seem to find out how to do it without pushing the reset button on the back.

Thanks for your time.

You type in the IP address of your router into a browser address bar like h ttp: // 123.456.789 (leave out the spaces) and hit enter. That will get you to the router configuration pages. There you can change the IP scheme to whatever you want. Just be sure you write down all the existing info in case you screw it up.

the default page is different on every router. best thing to do is go into command prompt and type ipconfig. The default gateway is almost 99% going to be your routers ip address unless you have other devices on your network. The item your trying to change is going to be the LAN side addressing.
