Hello . I'm new to computers and to this forum.

I have a question about the new laptops that comes with Centrino Wireless Lan.

Does the wireless internet work anywhere, where there is an wireless internet connection?

Say my neighbor has a wireless router. And it's range reach my place, can i just turn on my laptop and connect? Or do i need port numbers + whatever you need, or does it just connect online automatically?

you can connect as ong as there is no wep which is a security key. anywhere there is a wireless connection and they are broadcasting, you can connect
