I am trying to hook my computer up to my unversities LAN but my system isn't allowing me to recieve any packets. I can send them but that is it. I have tried everything from disabling my on-board NIC and installing a PCi Nic but it does the same thing with that. It has to be a setting somewhere. I had it on the network last year and it worked fine then i took it home for the summer and now it does this. can someone help?

Never mind i just formatted my hard drive cause it crashed. I still don't know what was wrong with it but it works now. I didn't have a firewall and the cable was good so i don't know. Must have been a setting somewhere. oh well. Thanks for the replies though.
