i'm trying to set up TightVNC on my home network so i can remotely access my "server" computer and shut it down, etc... but in order to do that i need to be able to ping that computer, and for some reason its not working... the computer is running windows 98 SE, no firewall, and i'm using an ASOUND AL500P internal PCI router... any suggestions?

Is the computer able to receive a connection on its own? Try connecting the computer directly from the broadband modem. See if it is able to get online. If not, the NIC card or cable being used could be causing your problem. Let us know.
