cant get lime wire to work

I am trying to run limewire on my pc, but i keep on geting this message

Your machine does not appear to have an active Internet connection or a firewallis blocking LimeWire from accessing the internet. LimeWire will automatically keep trying to connect you to the network unless you select "Disconnect" from the File menu.

i have got zone alarm on my pc, but i have turned it off

Then your windows firewall mit still be blocking it check the programs its blocking.

i but i have turned the firewall off, and no other pogram is being affected.

ive seen that even with zone alarm off, LW cant connect so make sure all three areas of limewire are checked in ZA

limewire uses a java runtime environment i believe, which means that java will need to connect to the internet as well (again, i think)

so make sure that is all checked out (jusched.exe?)

That what i was going to say - try and see if it needs JRE. I dont use LW, so I don't know. I'm a BT guy.

i am new to zone alarm, can you tell me how to add the three areas to zone alarm

i guess i go to the firewall settings and click on add

do i add host/site
ip address
ip range
subnet

If I am still familiar with ZoneAlarm, I think you need go into the program section and allow LimeWire access to the internet and all its associated files.
