Hi There.

I recently installed Windows 7 beta version on my Dell laptop. The installation went w/o any problems. I assigned a static IP and the laptop successfully connected to the network. I have created two shared folders but for some reasons I cannot access them from my other XP machine. I did assigned rights to everyone.

On my XP machine I can see the laptop under the workgroup, but when click on it or type the \\IP_Address in the explorer, I cannot access it. I can access shared folder on XP from the laptop, but not other way around. I disabled the firewall, but that did not fixed it. At this point I do not know what else can be done?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I tried that. I downloaded the XP patch but when I tried to installed it game a message that this patch was not for this type of hardware. But I think that problem was with my Antivirus. I have Kaspersky Internet Security AV and it set the network to Public. I changed the setting to Trusted and it worked. I think that was the problem.
