Can I use my iphone as a hotspot for my router to use

I just had a weird idea and everything I've looked at and tried doesn't really help. I'm beginning to think it's not possible.

Can I use my iphone's wireless hotspot as a source of internet for my router to share?

I have a belkin g wireless router. I don't know if some routers can and some can't or anything like that.

oh, so if I were to have windows 7 I could use this program to share my iphone data plan? (ill have full blown internet by then but still would be cool to do)

Since you can use your iPhone as a wireless hotspot already, is what you want to do is be able to share thru wired connections?

The router could also act as a range extender. And as far as I know, there isn't a way to do this, unless your router could accept connections through ad-hoc or through USB.
