One port sometimes will blink amber for a while, then return to the normal green flickering light. Our CT machine is using the port. I have tried using a different port, but it doesn't change anything. Is this possibly because the CT only has one way traffic? Outbound only. There don't seem to be any other issues with the switch and this seems to be something that is either rare or I just have never seen it as it happens before.

Does it blink amber only when you're first plugging into that port? If it is, that's Spanning-Tree Algorithm processing (it takes about 45 seconds when you first plug a device into the port).

Other than that, I would look up the manual at cisco.com

No, it doesn't have any sort of pattern for when it blinks. The cable has been plugged into the port for almost a year until I swapped it to a different one to check if that was a bad port.
