I'm a sys admin at a business and we're using Birch T1 (1.4mbps dl & upload).
We have about 10 users and if one person downloads a file at 100k, another person's email will take 13 minutes to send with an attachment. It's not a super large attachment; less than 10mb.
I ran a speed test with a 100k download (nothing else, only 1 computer connected direct to the Netopia T1 Router) ,and it drops to 1.2mbps download and 520mbps upload. Their "tech support" is adamant that this is normal.
Is this normal? I want to break their contract and switch. This is ridiculously slow we pay $770/month for their "T1" and 8 phone lines. HELP!! Thx!
