A router. :p

Dunnue, heard Sygate (Or however you spell it) Was good. Maybe I misread.

I heard Sygate personal firewall conflicts a lot with windows basic firewall ( that is for those who still want to keep windows firewall for their own PERSONAL REASONS)

I know two virus scan applications often conflict but two firewalls should work okay.

But why sygate?

$2300? That's alot for a firewall :O

I recommend Zone Alarm, it's around $30.

Actually, $2300 looks to be a pretty good price for that unit. What he was referring to is a HARDWARE firewall. There is a BIG difference between the capabilities of a hardware firewall and a software firewall. I won't get into specifics right now though.

Generally, most users would be fine with a software firewall, as many don't bother with updates and even configuring advanced functions of the software. There isn't much need for a hardware firewall for home use, unless you have the cash to burn, or if your profession is working in security.

Personally, I just use windows firewall, and McAfee Enterprise Edition for my PC.
