Attempting to Secure Router

I just hooked up my router which is a Linksys WRT54GS and am having problems.

When I hooked it up, I was able to connect, but was not secure. So I enable the WPA-PSK and set my key (standard 10 digits). When I refresh the wireless network list on my labtop my router shows up as locked. So when I attempt to connect it asks for the key. It seems to accept it since it is attempting to connect to the network. But it just sits trying to connect then gives up. It just says "Waiting for the network." Then returns to my Wireless Network list.

When I take off the WPA-PSK, it works fine. Anyone got a clue?

have you searched for a updated nic driver? WPA is pretty new, it may not know how to use it without a new driver.
