I'm wondering - If I'm surfing the internet, using a computer that I'm remotely accessing - Who's I.P. is being logged at the different websites? Is it my I.P. - or the I.P. of the computer I'm using via remote access?

I'm using Remote Desktop Connection - windows XP -

Does that mean that I have total control of the host?

Thanks for your reply.

Thanks for your reply.

Yup you have control of the client computer. But, as an FYI, the IP address that will be used will be the client IP address.

So, if you remote control into another machine and launch a web browser and start surfing the internet, any site you visit will log the clients IP address, not yours as the host.

This is how hackers can get away with the stuff they do, they take control of client PC's... then use those to control other PC's... and keep on until the trail is so mixed up you can't tell where it originated from.
