Howdy!! :)

I have a ProLink Hurricane 9000P 4-Port ADSL Modem/Router.

Just have a few questions:

What does "Received time from Time Server..." means?
Because when I looked at my modem's log, I saw this:

Code:
01/01/1970 00:00:33> PPP5 Session is up.
[color=red]09/15/2006 18:30:52> Received time from Time Server 128.138.140.44[/color]
09/15/2006 18:34:16> PPP1 Session is down.
09/15/2006 18:34:16> PPP2 Session is down.
09/15/2006 18:34:16> PPP3 Session is down.
09/15/2006 18:34:16> PPP4 Session is down.

I received a time from Time Server? What does that mean? In the log, you can see that I got disconnected after a few minutes.. ??

I also looked at some other modem logs, and I found out that there's only one PPP connected (which is PPP1) but when I look at my own log, I see 5 PPPs connected (1-5):

Code:
01/01/1970 00:00:28> [color=red]PPP1[/color] PPPoA Connected
01/01/1970 00:00:28> [color=red]PPP2[/color] PPPoA Connected
01/01/1970 00:00:28> [color=red]PPP3[/color] PPPoA Connected
01/01/1970 00:00:28> [color=red]PPP4[/color] PPPoA Connected
01/01/1970 00:00:28> [color=red]PPP5[/color] PPPoA Connected
01/01/1970 00:00:32> [color=red]PPP5[/color] PAP Authentication success

Is that normal? And what does PPP stand for? Sorry I'm not good at this.

Thanks!!!

Thanks for the answer Alex!

Another question:

-- How many PPP do I need running? Because in my log it shows 5, but I think I only use 1 right?

Also, another computer is connected to the modem and also uses it, so it must be just 2 right?
