Ok 2 computers connected on a internet shared network. using crossover wires.

------------------------------------------------------------
Computer-1 Main computer

running win xp media edition
2 network cards
- internet
- crossover cables\network

Computer-2 the "*****" computer

running win xp pro
1 NIC
- crossover cables\network

-------------------------------------------------------------

Now there both on the network, with internet. computer 2 can access the files shared on the network from computer 1. but when im on computer 1, I cant access any of the files from computer 2! I disabled windows firewall for both of them and still doesnt work.

Did I miss something?

Is computer 2 setup on the same work group as computer1? and does it have file and print sharing enabled?Perhaps something is simply misconfigured. On the XP Pro machine go into the control panel and run Network setup wizard, plug in all the info it asks for. Then at the end of the wizard it will ask you if you want to create an install disk for other non-XP machines select yes if XP media edition does not have this by default. Then run the wizard on the media edition PC. This will ensure all permissions are set and needed services are enabled etc etc..
