2 pc's to 1 phone line

Is it possible to run 2 computers off of one phone line and what would I need if possible?

you can use:
router or gateway with modem capabilities, 2 pcs with 2 network cards, 2 straight network cables
or
1 pc with a modem and a network card, another pc with a network card, one crossover network cable. With this you'll be using windows Internet Connection Sharing and the pc with the modem will have to be turned on and connected to the inet for the other pc to have inet access.
