I wish to know about 1000 base LX over single mode fiber cable activation. Whether it uses two cores of fiber or only one core. Means are there dedicated core of fiber for Rx and Tx or Rx and Tx both takes place on the same core of fiber. Also wish to know about distance it supports. If IEEE 802.3z can be explained indettail it would be helpful.

the range of 802.3z will always depend on the type that you are using and of course the power you are hauling. a lot has to be considered. i usually refer to cisco documentation when thinking about these sorts of ideas before i pull my hair out. the short answers to the Tx/Rx is no, they are on different cores.
try this site in order to calculate the distance that you can go.
i dont know how much detail you want on 802.3z, but cisco dips into it a little on the site. if you want spreadsheets and more info, i would suggest browsing the sourse
