Your Linux Desktop

Well, maybe we could get the linux users here to post pictures of how they have their desktop configured? That's one of my favorite things about linux..every user can have a unique experience. Kde, Gnome, XFCE, Fvwm, Icewm, Fluxbox, E17, blackbox, ect, ect, ect, then on top of that the skins vary consideribly more than windows skins.

So...post up how your desktop looks?

Ubuntu (Gnome) + Avant + UbuntuStudio Window Decoration

Pretty Simple. Only took me about 20 minutes to set up. I'm sure I'll change it drastically soon. I may try a red and black setup. We'll see.

How do you get the desktop system monitor thing like you have in that pic? I've seen it in DSL Linux, but I want it for Ubuntu!

It's called Conky, I believe it's available in the repos.

I'm using Gnome with Compiz Fusion. I've been wanting to try Avant but I haven't found a good guide to install it on Debian Etch.

conky is nice if you can get it configured. I just run htop whenever I want to view my system stats because its easier for me.

I may toy again with conky, but I had alot of problems with it last time I tried.

For one, it kept forcing my menus and things to reload. Was very annoying.

Emerald: MurrinaGreen (modified it to be darker and square)
GTK: Murrina Deviant
Icons: nuoveXT 2.2

I can't remember where I found the wallpaper, but if you want I can find the link. It came in a pack of other striped wallpapers.

Just grab the top half of someone else's conkyrc and modify the rest.
