I use Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon on my old computer and just put in a TRENDnet TEW-423PI (H/W: C1) wireless adapter. I installed the windows drivers with ndiswrapper and the hardware is detected. When I go to System>Administration>Network Tools, there are numbers showing up in the Transmitted Bytes and Packets, but nothing else. I run iwlist scanning in terminal and there are no scan results. My mom's laptop can detect access points but my old computer can't and I have no idea why. It's even next to the room with my wireless router. Anyone have ideas why it's not working?

ndiswrapper is problematic I tried a few times with various cards an USB adapters. I have found a USB wireless network adapter that works great with Linux Belkin F5D7050 never had a problem with it an i am posting using that now.
