The best one is the one to suit your personal needs the most. Check out all the different distro's and see

Ones I use the most would probably have to be Synapse Launcher, htop, ssh, Docky, samba + a lot of the servers (smb, ftp, ssh, etc), Chromium, Geary (awesome IDE), and Terminator (awesome terminal program)
