Is web base Linux future?

So as we know that the distributions won't be changing to much but do you think one like Chrome/Chromium OS and Mozilla Web mobile OS going to be what becomes big from Linux? I have been hearing a lot about these things on the web and not to mention even canonical has followed by announcing that in Ubuntu 13.04 the Ubuntu One Music app in the music player will no longer be supported it will go to a web based app that is already available in 12.10. Is Linux future Web Base?

By the way I am not talking about from the programmers point of view I am talking about the end user.

I doubt it, OSs are becoming more web based but the desktop will never die over web, Joli OS is something you might want to look at, its a web based linux variant similar to chrome
