Hi guys, just built my computer today, and decided to install ubuntu as the only OS from scratch. Everything went well apart from the screen resolution. The desktop is out of the screen, meaning i can only see the desktop background and no the bottom panel, i can barely make out the top panel (applications etc). I clicked on apperance and then Monitor and found that ubuntu seems to be stuck on settings for a 32" monitor, were mine is a 22". I can change the monitor resolution but dont know how to change the screen size too 22". Please help as quickly as possible, i really want this computer up and running. Also i am using a HDMI cable from PC to monitor.
thanks in advance,

The size of the screen doesnt matter. The Resolution does. So you need to know exactly what Resolution that monitor can do and then adjust it in the Settings accordingly. Knowing screen size means nothing. My 32" LED TV has a higher Resolution than my 40" LCD. Size doesnt matter. Resolution does!
