No you cannot install MS office in Ubuntu, Open office Calc, the open office equelvelent to Exel. I'm not sure if Ubuntu Supports the Abiword suite, if so maybe that is an option?
If you wanna PAY for a word Processing suite,( Word processor, slideshow presenation and Spredsheet) then Thinkfree Offiice might be good, it supports Microsoft office formats (.xls,.doc,.ppt) and is setup very silmarly to the Microsoft office suite for windows. Although it costs about $50 to download + requires JAVA another + is that it works 'inside a web browser so you don't have to D/L it....
you may have to do some more digging on this yourself
Personally I suggest you switch distros to somthing without oOo as defult somthing like puppy Linux maybe? but nearly ALL linux distros contain OOo, (one's that I've seen anyway which is over 40 distros!)
