talldude123,

PCLinux is exelent, you were probably Downloading .93 which is still in the Beta stages, you need to D/L .92

http://ftp.belnet.be/linux/pclinuxos/live-cd/english/preview/

But yeah it should run fine on your machine.

But here are a few more of my Favorites, in case your interested.

Kubuntu
http://www.kubuntu.org/

Mandriva
http://frontal2.mandriva.com/en/downloads/mirrors

BeatrIX
http://www.watsky.net/download.html

Now I'm only going to reccomend SUSE cause 10.1 and 9.3 were Beautiful distros to look at and some people like eye candy

OPENSUSE
http://www.opensuse.org/Download

But if I were you I would D/L and Install PCLinuxOS everything works right from the box the Synaptic D/L manager is a breeze. the only 2 things are disadvantages in my eyes is the fact it doesn't have PPC support and it doesn't have Openoffice by defult (this can be taken care of via synaptic)

enjoy,

Jake

I tried LinSpire linux, but it's a Live CD...

Since there are so many Linux versions, could somebody recommend a version of Linux that is completely free (no money needed), and has a really easy-to-use install manager?

Linspire had an excellent install manager, but you had to pay for it. Is there a Linux version that is free and has an install manager?

Ubuntu FTW!
