Ok,

So I have an Intel Celeron processor.

256MB of Ram (I swear to god I think it might even be 128. I really can't remember)

13 GB of drive space

I recently triple formatted and instead of installing Win98 SE again I think I might switch to Linux.

I have a few questions though....

1) Easy to learn?

2) Will my Lexar JumpDrive Secure II work w/ Linux?

3) Do you recommend another OS?

4) If I do decide to switch, what version should I get?

thanks so much.

Does it have some kind of crytpography feature? Why is it called "Secure" II?

If it's just a regular USB flash drive, it will work. And if you need it to be encrypted, I'm sure there is an alternative.

1) Easy to learn?
Depends how in depth you want to go, I found it quite difficult. Also depends on what distro you choose if you choose something like PCLinuxOS you will find it quite easy but if you go with something like Gentoo where everything has to be compiled manually you will find it a struggle.

I suggest you look at these links it has everything you need to know about Linux

If it is a standard USB it will work fine

3) Do you recommend another OS?

No Linux is what I recommend

4) If I do decide to switch, what version should I get?

Try this Link it is the Linux distro chooser, it asks you a series of questions then based on the info you give it comes up with with your perfect Linux distro
