Anyone know of a well working screen recorder for Ubuntu? If its open sourced, then that's a bonus (I've been wondering how they work). All I need is smooth recording, an easy interface, no watermarking, free, and not to resource demanding.

Thanks ahead of time.

That looks like it should work, I'm gonna go test run it real quick.

EDIT: Exactly what I needed. Thanks!

How do I make the sound from my webcam mic to sync and record to the video? Also, what is a good video editing program?

Hm, I'm not too sure. I'm unsure as to what other software would exist for screen casts like that. I've heard of people using GTKRecordMyDesktop for tutorials, but they would split up video and audio. Meaning, they would do the video with no audio, then later collect thoughts about exactly what to say, then add those audio clips (normally produced by Audacity) to the video accordingly.

Personally, it's what I've done, as sometimes I fumble on my thoughts during an actual casting.

There's several options for video editors:

Open Shot (what I've used)
Pitivi
Kdenlive
avidemux
Lightworks (beta to be released soon, but it's supposedly amazing and open source'd as of 2010. Not available now but keep your ears open)
