At first it says

Downloading ATI Driver ATI Technologies 4379 Serial ATA Controller

Then after baout 3-7 minutes it fails somewhere, then it tells me there are no filesystems to create, need to check my hardware

Been doing some searching, i cant find anything on this error

I am more than willing to do it again, to give you the exaxt message.i also tried the text installer someone siad that worked for them that had a similar problem.

Didnt work for me, same problem just in ugly text lol.

Ok, this is the exact errror,

After it tries to install the hardwar driver, this error pops open first

insmod'ng module sata_sil failed at /usr/bin/perl-install/modules.pm line 324

so after that i hit OKAY, and then this error pops up

An Error Occured An Error Ocurred No valid device were found on which to create a new filesystem Please check you hardware for the problem

My first guess is to reburn the installer, but if you have any other ideas please let me know

Ok, seems like everything is working pretty well now, the only problem is Windows was already installed. I cant partition since Windows partition takes up the whole drive.

So i assume i have to use a NTFS resizer now?

or can the MAndrake partition wizard do this for me?

IF anyone has information regarding this please get back to me

Thanks alot for helping me out so far,

- Sean

Hmm, when I had to resize mine, all I had to to was use the built in editor that came with the installer.

Well there is a resize button.
WHen i click it it says Accounting CLusters...

Cluster Accounting Failed.

Whatever that means.

It does however, have an option to use the free space on he windows partition.

IS that a good bet?

Yes, but it will probably take all of the free space up. Or if not all, then alot and you will be left with a little less to work with in Windows.

why wont it let me resize the windows partition?

This sucks, seems like windows doesnt want me to resize the partition.

Is there a safe way to resize the NTFS windows w/o diskdrake?

However, there is a restoration FAT32 partition on the comp when i bought it. Can i delete this and install lnix here? lol its 8 gb

Ok, now i got that fixed, had to run chksdsk, for osme reason thought my NTFS system was corriupt.

I made Mandriva have 20298 mb, 20 gigs, not too big for my 250 gig hd.

Now its asking for the mount point, what do i put here?
