My CD has something wrong with it. I try to install and a little ways in it says it has an error with something dealing with images or something. So I decided to let it check the discs, and it says the first CD is missing files, and they have something to do with images or something.

Any idea what that is? If so, is there a way for my to repair or replace the files online? I really wanna get linux on this thing, and windows was wiped cause I wasn't cautious with the installtion. So now I have no operating system, and linux won't work. :(

^^ Agreed, try Fedora core. it is the newest opensource release by Redhat: http://fedora.redhat.com/.

if you have no OS and want an OS you can get ubuntu and Kubuntu disks shiped to you for free:

Ubuntu: https://shipit.ubuntu.com/
Kubuntu (*buntu with KDE): https://shipit.kubuntu.org/
Edubuntu (education Version): https://shipit.edubuntu.org/

and of course Xubuntu (Xfce desktop Environment), which doesn't have have Shipit as yet but I'm sure will become availible soon
http://www.xubuntu.com/

if you still want to check out other distros try these linux distro choosers:

http://eedok.voidofmind.com/linux/chooser.html
http://www.zegeniestudios.net/ldc/

hope this Helps,

Jake
