Hey guys,

I am moving to LINUX away from windows and want to know this:

If I am currently using Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and want to start ripping and burning DVDs, which LINUX based programmes would you recommend and why?

Thanks guys, Stupidmutt :D

OpenCD:

http://www.theopencd.org

Why I hear you asking? because this CD has everything bundled in with it office, Internet, Productivity, Multimedia and utilities, Among oter things. It is A CD of Open Source software Ported for windows, my suggestion would be to D/L or buy the CD for a nominal charge and install the CD to your HDD (or components) this should give you a "feel" for opensource software.

you can find a full list of programs here: http://www.theopencd.org/programs

Then I would reccomend you try a Live Distro to see if you like the system to choose 1 try these links: http://www.zegeniestudios.net/ldc/

As for suggested Links: http://www.tldp.org/LDP/intro-linux/html/index.html
http://rute.2038bug.com/index.html.gz (needs firefox)

if you are into books: Linux for dummies 6th edition

Hope this Helps,

Jake
