OK I've just installed Mandrake 10.1 Official on my new computer. It all works very well, except the mouse. In the installation I chose the right mouse, and it worked until I rebooted and started Linux. So I went to the control panel type thing and chose the right one and it worked again. However, every time I reboot Mandrake seems to think I have a USB mouse when it is actually a normal PS2 one, and I have to change the setting to make it work every time.

So, is there any way I can force Mandrake to use the setting I tell it?

One thing, I am using a KVM switch, but this really should not make any difference.

Thanks in advance.

as root navigate your way to:/etc/rc.d/rc.modules and edit or check that file to see if the USB module for a mouse is uncommented, if it doesnt have a "#" in front of it, put one there, that will stop the USB mouse driver from being loaded. If that doesnt fix it, then Mandrake has another config file somewhere and Im not sure where it would be
