making a bootable cd

I downloaded a copy of Knoppix a while back and tried making a bootable cd but my software told me I couldn't because the file was too large. Any help?

Did you download the DVD image or the CD image? If you got the DVD, that could be your problem.

either image doesnt matter, they do not need to "made bootable", they are bootable by default, just burn the image as is period......

i assume dvd image since it was too large for a cd

well if its for a cd it will be 700mb or less, in the past knoppix has ALWAYS been on cd as far as I know

This may sound like a silly question, but are you burning the ISO image to CD with an application that supports ISO images, or are you just trying to burn the ISO file to a CD as a single file?
