I'm looking for good Linux distribution to serve for all networking tasks. firewall, routing, DNS, DHCP and anything that has something to do with networking.
I'm not an linux expert but i know my networking.
Any tips for maximum security would be great.
How about accessing linux GUI from another box running windows?

Red Hat Enterprise Server's good, if not I'm running a Fedora Core server that's very dependle.

[shan@localhost shan]$ uptime
19:34:29 up 30 days, 3:39, 4 users, load average: 0.12, 0.10, 0.08

To access linux via gui, you would just need to make sure you install a vnc server and had a vnc application on your desktop.

I believe the version of linux you run would depend more on your hardware. . . if you have an old box, you dont want a new linux =probably wont meet the hardware requirements. .

As far as linux gui from windows, there are commercial Xwindows programs but. A no cost alternate is to install CygWin and use xwindows from that to access your linux box. . .
I.e (*$ xwin -:0 -query YourLinuxBoxName *)

As far as setting things up, start with the HOWTOs...
ask questions not answered there and someone should be able to help. . .
