which linux is easiest to install on a blank c drive?

SuSE 9.3 or Mandrake 10.1 are very easy to use, they come with a graphical interfaces, and alot of support as well as a replication of a windows OS.

Pretty much, they are just like installing windows onto a computer.

The RedHat family I would have to say is the easiest, but it comes with a price---the rest of the OS sucks big time.

In my experience, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xrandros and Mandrake/Mandriva are the easiest to install once you put in all the info like the host name administrator password and added users and user passwords it is just A simple mouse click then you sit back and wait.

Really, I think you should be looking for a more functional distro than one with a pretty installer. That's just my humble opinion.

Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Xrandros are anything but 'pretty' Just A whole bunch of blue and grey screens with instructions. Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xrandros and Mandake are plenty funtional, just because they are easy to instsall doesn't mean they are not functional

And I'm not saying that they aren't, I'm just saying that he shouldn't focus soley on how nice the installer is.

if you're installing linux, you should start calling it

/dev/sda
