My grandmother recently acquired an old Gateway laptop and has been using it for her email. It is a Pentium II 399mhz and 128 mb ram.

Right now it's running Windows XP and barely keeping up. What would be a good lightweight version of Linux to replace Windows and how easy would it be for her to connect to wireless access points while traveling?

Keep in mind this is my grandmother who has very little experience with computers so the key is simplicity. My biggest concern is having something that will connect to various wireless points without needing to reconfigure all the time.
