ok so how do i get a linux desktop to log on to a windows domain and get that users enviroment(printers/shares/auth/etc)?

thanks for the help. and much detail would be greatly apperciated.

much thanks, i kept seeing samba but i could only find stuff that told me how to use samba to have windows access a linux server so thanks for the help.

also... i need fedora as my linux server os and i need samba on that?

That's NT domain and not Active Directory, you know that right King? For 2000 and 2003 server it requires you to configured Kerberos client, LDAP client and some part of samba. There was a tutorial but I couldn't find it, had seen it before, but a Google should find it.

yeah, i figured once i joined it to the domain things would fall into place...guess not huh lol.

But ok so what i want to do can be done? i can have a linux client pull active directory and gpo's etc. ?

i havent yet because i didnt know if i deff need to use it or not. can i do this with ubuntu server? i have that.

thanks
