knoppix internet config?

ok since i messed windows up on my pc, i figured i'd run a bootable linux for a while, til i get windows fixed, i've always wanted to try linux anyway. ok i have a cable modem, which is ran to my roommate's pc, he has an extra network card, so i hooked my pc to his,... his pc runs windows, how can i config knoppix so i can use the internet? sorry for the stupid questions.

where can i do that? when i go to internet/network my options are

dev/modem connection
adsl/pppoe
gprs/umts
isdn

network card config
ndiswrapper
and wireless stuff

am i in the right spot?
