I installed my kali without encryption and I have modified it so much with trial and error, now its working correctly and I want to know if there is a way to encrypt it now without a fresh install. It seems from my searches it can only be done during the install unlike Windows OS.

If someone can help me this would be great!

If you used something like TrueCrypt (or one of it's now-replacements), then you should be able to encrypt the HDD after the fact. As for built-in encryption...not sure.

The true crypt doesn't give that option, I've tried already, not sure why it not there. Kali Linux has a built in encryption but can only seem to do it during installation. I will install in on a new HDD and find a way to copy my data into the new HDD..

So after 3 days! I managed to install K linux with entire disk encryption.. (having issues with the partitioning config) You might aswell close this unless someone can now tell me how to copy all my data within a partition to the new HDD?
