I tried redhat 5.2 and 7.0; slackware 3.5,9.1,and 10.0;bacilinux(floppy distro based on slack);knoppix;linux from scratch;mandrake;sun OS;debian; and some others.
I went back to slackware and stayed with it, bottom line, its simple, and it just plain works,it has killer support from the community, you ask a question on linuxquestions.org and you can expect an answer in minutes. My main thing im into is videos and movies, the amount of tools for that under linux blows windows away.
