floppyless install

Hey thanks man.

It is FAT32 in an ME environment. (Can't get drivers for other OS for sound, modem etc.)

I did the install of ME this way.

I'll check out your link.

My main fear with doing an install from another unit is that I would have to install it USB. Also the configuration won't match will it? That is why I ghosted from another unit that is similar but it just doesn't fly.

if youve got access to broadband and a cd burner get a more recent copy of a linux distro, slackware went to direct boot from cdrom in version 8 I think, if you can get the whole copy of a slack9 or 10 on your harddrive, booting from that should be easy.

I actually have vsn 10 on my harddrive right now.

have loadlin try to load text.gz instead of color.gz, I will get back to you later, im reading all about this stuff in the slack 10docs, we are going to get this to work

They have altered the rootdisks and no longer have Color.gz or Text.gz files in Release 10. That poses a problem again, so I too shall have to do some reading. Maybe together we will beat this thing. Thanks again.
