easy liveusb

is there an easy to just take a LiveCD ISO and put it on a flash drive, then install a boot loader or something to make it boot?

It's not quite that simple.

If you want Linux on a pendrive, get a DSL live CD, boot it, and then select the Install to USB Drive option. It works quite well.

well, i dont want to have a minimalistic distro, i could do the same with puppy, but i want to be able to make a liveusb out of any distro. i tried syslinux, but when i booted up, it had an error. i'm pretty sure i just used it incorrectly.

maybe i could somehow install grub on the usb key then extract the iso to the root of the flash drive?

or is there a usb boot loader?

the only thing i have gotten was simplymepis will make a liveusb key like dsl or puppy. could I just do that and replace the Mepis files with another distro and ModiFy the bootloader?
